After a scorcher in 2022, this year’s The Running Company Victor Harbor Half Marathon was run in near perfect conditions on the South Coast last weekend.

Starting in the centre of Victor Harbor, a beautiful, flat course took runners on closed roads towards the Bluff, back to town on the Encounter Bikeway then an out-and-back across the causeway to Granite Island with a finish on Warland Reserve – 1 lap for the 10K, 2 laps for the half marathon and half a lap for the 5K.

A field of 1834 runners across all distances was Great Southern Runs biggest event ever, and 1142 finishers in the 21.1K made it the biggest South Australian half marathon this year.  Not only scenic, the course was fast too with 90 runners breaking the 90 minute mark

The half marathon was won by Frankie Conway (RunAsOne) in 1:10:52 and Tracey Taylor (Sunrise Run Team) in 1:28:04, the 10K was won by Paul Mulholland (Adelaide Milers Crew) in 33:57 and Acacia Wadham in 36:56, and the 5K was won by Samuel Plaice (Flinders Athletic Club) in 17:17 and Karissa Kendall in 21:32.

Highlight of the day was 70+ kids enjoying their dash across the causeway & back to finish under the big arch.

The Victor Harbor Half Marathon will be back on 1 December 2024.  Registrations will be opening mid-year.

What Our Runners Are Saying

Loved the bib, location, organisation, communication, bananas, hydration drink, massage, beer, medal…  Will definitely run again   😀

Belinda E

A well run event with good organisation.  Made it very easy for a first timer to rock up and feel set and comfortable.

Tim H

Signage was good on where to run and which path to take.  Plenty of drink stations which was great with the warmer weather.  Post-run massage, fresh fruit, water and sports drink all great for recovery.

Lachy H

Supportive atmosphere and friendly team.  I appreciated the chance for the kids to get involved too.
